Art from the Torres Strait Islands never before seen on the mainland will be displayed in Newcastle as part of a landmark exhibition.
Warwar: The art of the Torres Strait will feature 130 works of art in the Newscastle Art Gallery and will include new artworks from Badhulgaw Kuthinaw Mudh (Badu Art Centre), Ngalmun Lagau Minaral Arts (Moa Arts) and Erub Erwer Meta (Erub Arts).
CAAMA's Philippe Perez spoke to Torres Strait Islander, artist and curator of the exhibition Brian Robinson about the art of his homeland and the efforts to put it on display in Newcastle (download audio below).
