A recently released research paper commissioned by the Royal Commission into Violence Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation of People with Disability has shown that First Nations people with a disability are willing to have their stories heard in a safe space.

The research sourced testimonies of 47 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people with a disability with the results published in a report called Stronger Together,

It comes ahead of public sessions at the Royal Commission which are focusing on First Nations people later this year.

Woremi man and researcher at the Western Sydney University Dr Scott Avery spoke CAAMA’s Philippe Perez about the stories he heard in his research.
