Singleton Station Water Licence - the biggest in the history of the Territory

10th May 2021

On April 8th, the Northern Territory Water Controller granted private company Fortune Agribusiness a licence to use 40 billion litres of water per year, for 30 years for free, to irrigate farming operations on Singleton Station, near Ali Curung, south of Tennant Creek.

Arid Lands Environment Centre's Policy Officer Alex Vaughan caught up with CAAMA to talk about the environmental impacts and consequences this will have on local Territorians. Also, tonight there will be a public forum held on the Singleton Station water licence at the Alice Springs Community Garden, 105 Burke St, East Side, starting from 5:45 - 7:00 PM
