Today is International Day of Women and girls in Science, a day that recognises the critical role women and girls play in science and technology. The day was implemented by UNESCO and UN Women, in collaboration with intergovernmental agencies and institutions, as well as civil society partners that aim to promote women and girls in science. The day's purpose is to promote full and equal access to participation in science for women and girls.

Kirsten Banks is an Australian astrophysicist and science communicator who is from the Wiradjuri nation and is known for her work in promoting mainstream and Aboriginal Astronomy She earned a Bachelor of Science in Physics from the University of New South Wales in 2018, and worked at the Sydney Observatory.

Kristen Gave a Ted Talk in May of 2019 titled 65,000 yrs. -the great history of Australian Aboriginal Astronomy.

Concerns continue to grow In Mbantua Alice Springs around the spike in youth Crime in the last couple of months, many people in the community continue rasie their concerns. One such person is Independent Member for Araluen Robyn Lambley, who has called on the Northern Territory Labour government to take more steps toward reducing the number of anti incidents in the community, with calls for a youth Curfew to be implemented in the town Mbantua Alice Springs.
