Push To Release Low Risk Australian Prisoners During Covid-19 Pandemic

An ongoing push to have vulnerable low risk inmates released from Australian Goals is still before the Victorian Supreme Court.

Low risk Prisoners in the United Kingdom and other countries have already been released.

Monique Hurley a senior lawyer with the Human Rights Law Centre has worked across a number of areas including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ rights and democratic freedoms.

Monique has worked at the North Australian Aboriginal Justice Agency in their Darwin and Katherine offices, where she provided a wide range of civil law advice to clients living in remote communities and represented clients in coronial inquests and child protection matters.
