Northern Territory Labor member for the seat of Namatjira Chancey Paech has responded to a directive from the Morrison coalition government that despite the growing threat of the coronavirus to remote Aboriginal communities, mutual obligations under CDEP remain in place and those that don’t turn up for work risk losing their welfare payments.

Mr Paech told CAAMA RADIO that the directive from the National Indigenous Australians agency to CDEP service providers is a really serious issue…and the government isn’t focused on the problems it will create.
