Keeping our young men connected to their culture and country......

25th Jun 2020

There are growing concerns from many male elders in remote First Nations communities in central Australia around their young men slowly straying from the path their ancestor set for them when it comes to the connection to culture and country… and today we will be taking a look at program that aims to stop the loss of that connection.

The Codes For Life Program facilitated by Alyawarre man Michael Liddle and Anmatjirra man Wayne Scrutton along with the help from other facilitators who are senior male elders from the remote communities where the program is run, their aim is to ask the hard Questions around why too many of their young men are slowly but surely losing what their ancestors fought so hard to pass down and keep strong.

CAAMA's Damien Williams spoke with Anmatjirra man Wayne Scrutton one of the co-facilitators about how he hopes the program will help his people.
