Northern Territory Labor Member for the seat of Namatjira, Chancey Paech, has responded to a directive from that Morrison coalition government that despite the growing threat of the corona virus in remote Aboriginal communities mutual obligations under CDEP remain in place ...and those that don’t turn up for work risk losing their welfare payments.

Member for Norhtern Territory seat of Stuart Scott McConnell says Senior Aboriginal leaders in remote communities are expressing deep concern about the coronavirus pandemic with Aboriginal people and particularly those living remotely at the greatest risk.

New research suggests that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander’s need to have regular heart checks from the age of 18 because of their high risk to heart attack and stroke.
