Being healthy - black and white way

9th Oct 2020
Young Indigenous Artist, entrepreneur and nurse in training, Zoe Mardijbalina Fitzpatrick, is making a documentary as part of her traineeship at Menzies School of Health Research.

Zoe Fitzpatrick aims to use her film to educate the community on how to keep their body and minds healthy in both a traditional aboriginal way and a western way.

She says It is important to demonstrate both ways as aboriginal people live in two very different worlds, the blackfella way and the whitefulla way.

Ms Fitzpatrick states that acknowledging indigenous health traditions will be very beneficial for the community to feel more connected to their culture and to address the importance of it as it is so often overseen.
