The Alice Springs Women’s Shelter is a place that provides a range of support for women and children experiencing domestic and family violence.

The Women’s Group, which is part of their Outreach Program, is held on a weekly basis in a number of communities in Alice Springs. It provides a space for women to come together and share their experiences while engaging in fun art and craft activities

The group provides a place where local Alice Springs Aboriginal Women to come together to take out for themselves and escape the stresses and demands of home, family and extended family.

CAAMA senior broadcaster, Pam Reilly, speaks to Byanka Billston, Aboriginal Care Management worker at Congress, and community development officer at Red Cross Colleen McCormack about the ‘women’s group’ program.
