Aboriginal Climate Justice

6th Mar 2020

The Alice Springs Climate Justice Workshop took place this week, a public forum which brought together Northern Territory communities, organisations and people to form connections, share knowledge, skills, stories and to generate just solutions for the challenges climate change poses on Northern Territory communities. The two day workshop saw much discussion on both climate change as well as other environmental impacts faced by Aboriginal communities.

Janet Gregory, a local from the community of Elliott, told CAAMA Radio about the challenges faced by her community and the danger to country posed by climate change.

Meanwhile Garrwa/Yanguwa man Gadrian Hoosan and Norman Frank of Julalikari Council, told everyone about the strong need for solar energy in remote communities.
