Therapeutic horses from Ltyentye Apurte helping those living with mental health issues

A therapeutic program helping Aboriginal People with their mental health is being held in Alice Springs for this whole week.

Brumbies from Ltyentye Apurte have been transported to a station in Alice Springs to assist remote community members who are living with mental health issues.

Participants will undergo a program where they train a horse to be confident in their interactions with human beings.

Philippe Perez spoke to Joe Hughes who is the curator of the 4BP program as well as some of the participants, Tiwi man & former Hawthorn AFL player Cyril Rioli and Arrente men ‘Ken’ & ‘Keith’ from Santa Teresa.
