Honouring Jabreen at Griffith University

27th Feb 2019

The Kombumerri Ngarangwal people from the Gold Coast have unveiled a statue that was gifted to Griffith University that honours Jabreen, who created the land on which the Gold Coast is situated. The statue is also the home of native stingless bees that live in Jabreen's head, with the entrance being the creators mouth.

Kombumerri Ngarangwal man Max Dillon who is the bee keeper of the hive spoke with CAAMA's Damien Williams about the journey his people took to getting the hive commissioned and gifting it to the University.
