A new interactive media platform has been launched to help preserve and strengthen First Nations Languages in Australia.
Indigenous Community Television, ICTV is hosting the newly established inLangauge platform which will have dedicated access for up to 20 language groups to house their video content.
The launch of the platform was held at the Alice Springs Library last week. Speaking to the media was Vito Lucarelli, who is the project co-ordinator of the inLanguage platform, General manager of ICTV Rita Cattoni and Arrernte Warlpiri women and ICTV Board member Lynette Ellis.
Vito Lucarelli, project co-ordinator of the inLanguage platform says there are also plans for more content in the future.
Arrrernte Warlpiri women and ICTV Board member Lynitte Ellis says technology is important for both learning and retaining language.
A map will also feature as a search tool to help people navigate to find video content of the languages being used.
