The Conference of Major Superannuation Funds held on the Gold Coast over the weekend heard that the superannuation sector has only recently taken on First Nations peoples as a particular client group.
The conference had up to over 200 organisations discussing many topics facing the superannuation industry, in the aftermath of the royal commission into the banking & financial services sector.
One of the sessions at the event looked at how the super funds can improve the customer experience for Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islanders.
Yorta Yorta man & Chairperson of the First Nations Foundation Ian Hamm spoke to CAAMA’s Philippe Perez while in Melbourne about the importance of getting more information about Superannuation out to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
