Co-Chair of the Australian Literary and Numeracy Foundation , Professor Tom Calma,has used an event at the Gillen Primary School in Mbantua Alice Springs to remind Australians that “ the overwhelming demand for culturally appropriate programs remains " if all Australian children are to reach their full potential.

A $90 million investment into a new model of delivery of culturally appropriate comprehensive health services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people will also provide certainty for community controlled health services for the next three years.

Sacred artifacts taken from the Aranda people of Central Australia in 1920 and displayed for almost a century at museums in United States have been returned to their traditional owners in Central Australia.
