With Australia’s First Nations population expected to grow to a million within the next decade…important questions are being asked of Government around truth telling and self determination.

Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS).figuires reveal that 40 percent of First Nations Australians will live in a major city by 2031 prompting Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Indigenous Strategy and Services at Sydney University Professor Lisa Jackson Pulver to question what impact this will have on those that remain in remote communities.

The peak body for First Nations child protection says this year’s national conference is focused on the positive steps being taken to reduce the impact of out of home care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children.
