* The Northern Territory Aboriginal Affairs Minister has vowed that local decision making will continue to drive Government policy that impacts remote communities.

* Long running Aboriginal Land Claims in the Northern Territory might soon come to an end, following  changes to the Northern Territory Land Rights Act which successfully passed through Federal Parliament.

* A group of Aboriginal Land management leaders has travelled to Canada to discuss with local First Nations Peoples   how the Indigenous Protected Areas framework could be adapted in that country
