The head of an Australian based world-renowned research, collections and publishing organisation says First Nations peoples need to be at the forefront of research

The Australian Indigenous Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies AIATSIS, will be hosting the 2019 National Indigenous Research Conference in Brisbane from the 1st to the 3rd of July.

The theme of the conference, which will take place at the Queensland University of Technology, is Research for the 21st Century, and aims to build on previous themes of impact and engagement

CEO of AIATSIS, Dhunghutti Biripi man Craig Ritchie Says the conference is an opportunity for people involved or interested in research to come together to discuss how studies can benefit Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

Mr Ritchie told CAAMA Radio Aboriginal people need to lead research involving first nation’s peoples.
