Late last week we heard from Noongar Elder Mervyn Eades about a recent native title settlement, worth about $1.3 billion. The agreement includes 6 Indigenous Land Use Agreement across Noongar country.
Mr Eades suggested the decision was a national disgrace & did not include enough consultation. He is looking to apply for a request for a judicial review within the next three weeks.
The National Native Title Council, (NNTC) however have welcomed the decision and said it will bring joint land management of parks & economic development for Aboriginal people in WA.
Djab-Wurrung man & Chairman of the NNTC Jamie Lowe spoke to Philippe Perez about the decision and their position.
