The Central desert community of Ltyentye Apurte/Santa Teresa has opened a community garden as a part of the Get Grubby Program launched in the MacDonnell regional area…
The sun was shining in Santa Teresa, 85kms south east of Alice Springs for a huge community day to celebrate the opening of the new community gardens.
Special guests to the Get Grubby program launch were gardening guru Costa the garden gnome and children’s environmental character Dirt Girl… Costa shared his enthusiasm for local community gardens.
Events included a Bush Wok cook-off which saw teams compete to make the most delicious Rainbow Chicken Curry while the kids enjoyed the jumping castle.
Top End Aboriginal Music legend Shellie Morris performed for the crowd with local Eastern Reggae Band.
