In June 2015 the Aboriginal Cultural Materials Committee reversed a previous recommendation to reject the approval of the Roe 8 highway extension application to disturb registered sites, because of the cultural significance of Bibra and North Lakes.
But Nyoongar custodian Corina Abraham is challenging the approval, and has launched legal action against the Western Australian Aboriginal Affairs Minister Peter Collier and the ACMA.
Ms Abraham says the construction is damaging her people and stressed the importance of their coming together collectively, in opposition of the highway extension.
