Aboriginal people who were removed from their families and placed into care by south Australian authorities are being urged to apply for the state government Reparations Scheme.
John Hill, an independent assessor fot the South Australian Stolen Generations Reparations Scheme says "Aboriginal people removed from their family as a child without a court order and removed from their
normal place of residence in South Australia prior to 31 December 1975 are eligible to apply to the
6 million dollar fund
Mr Hill told CAAMA as well as providing compensation for the grief, pain and loss experienced by communities, families and individuals, the process also provides Stolen Generation people with an opportunity to tell their story.
