24th Sep 2016

This spectacular show amazed the hundreds of people gathered at the Alice Springs Desert Park tonight, Friday the 23rd September.

Parrtjima – a Festival in Light, a new contemporary light spectacular in the heart of Australia.

Contemporary and traditional Indigenous art lit up the Caterpillar's mountain side under the spectacular night sky of the Northern Territory synchronised with narratives and music.

– A Festival in Light invites you to experience the oldest continuous culture on earth like never before.

Step into a spectacular world of light and sound where contemporary and traditional Indigenous stories and artwork are brought to life under the night sky on an unprecedented scale.

Illuminating 2.5 kilometres of the epic 300-million-year-old MacDonnell Ranges and spilling into Alice Springs Desert Park, Parrtjima will be a breathtaking outdoor gallery experience presenting local artwork, culture and stories, with interactive installations the whole family can enjoy.

The sheer scale of the lighting on the MacDonnell Ranges makes Parrtjima Australia’s longest-ever light show installation.
