Three Central Australian Aboriginal organisations and a high quality interactive multi-media program operating out of the South Australian APY Lands have been selected as finalists in the 2016 Indigenous Governance Awards.
The finalists are Tangentyere Council Aboriginal Corporation, Warlpiri Youth Development Aboriginal Corporation (WYDAC)·, Western Desert Nganampa Walytja Palyantjaku Tjutaku Aboriginal Corporation and Ara Irititja on the APY Lands.
Chair of the Indigenous Governance Awards Professor Mick Dodson, says “The finalists demonstrate the strength of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander-led organisations and projects around the country and represent the best of what is happening across Australia."
The Indigenous Governance Awards (IGAs) were created by Reconciliation Australia in partnership with BHP Billiton to identify, celebrate and promote effective Indigenous governance.
