A Central Australian based teacher who works with troubled Aboriginal youth as depicted in the recent  Four Corners report calling for  "some balance"  in the discussion about the treatment they receive while  in detention.

Former Northern Territory chief justice Brian Martin has  stepped down as head of the Royal commission into the treatment of youth detainees in the NTsaying he does not have the "full confidence" of sections of the Aboriginal  community... and is not prepared to compromise the inquiry.

Former Queensland Supreme Court Justice Margaret White and outgoing Human Rights Commissioner Mick Gooda have been appointed the new heads of the Royal Commission .
