Wiradjuri man breaking down the barriers and stigma surrounding mental health both nationally and internationally.

Wagga Wagga citizen of the year, Joe Williams suffered from depression and suicidal tendencies but has since become a mental health advocate and hopes to use his experiences to assist Native Americans dealing with mental health issues.

Mr Williams will speak to schools and communities over two weeks, traveling to Cincinnati, New York, Kansas, Missouri, North Carolina and Pennsylvania.

Mr Williams says  he would like to speak to Native Americans who face many similar situations as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
