The latest visit to Elliott saw some great development for the region. After a very good discussion with the Elliott School Principle a Senior Student Radio Program is going to be starting there this week, and with keen students participating this should a mighty big success…
Also, the Elliot Nine Hole Golf Course is in the process of being tidied up, so if you’re driving through, take advantage of a course in the middle of no-where to test your golfing skills.
Jason Bill, the long-time broadcaster in Elliott, was able to spend time taking me around the township, showing me the special places including the WWII Memorial, which I must say is worth a stop & look at…the statue is a surprisingly youthful looking soldier, and signage beside the memorial gives an insight into things as there are quotes from residents from that time. We also visited the Aged Care Centre where Cert 3 & 4 training was going on & the Health Clinic where we made sure current community announcements were going to be coming to the RIBS Studio, and then the Sport & Rec Centre, we spent a bit of time discussing the Youth Program objectives and in this way we’re all making sure that school and after school programs can continue during the school breaks and regular long weekends and holidays.
If you’re driving through Elliott keep a keen ear out for Jason, Elliott RIBS Broadcasters on 102.9FM
