This documentary is about how the story keepers believe that Jandamarra must be a story that is owned by the whole Australian population much like Ned Kelly is and turn Jandamarra from an unsung hero into a national hero, one to be proud of.

Keeping the story of Jandamarra alive sits in the hands of a few key people within the Bunuba nation. Since the passing of the key story holder old Banjo Woorunmurra (now deceased) other senior people like George Brooking, Dillon Andrews, Selina Middleton, Danny Marr have all since played an important role in the preservation of this historical story and of its importance.

But why is this story so central and key in the minds of Bunuba people? How has the historical event of Jandamarra helped to shape the destiny of contemporary Bunuba people?

A book, a play and now a feature documentary in the making will further add to the archiving and preservation of this story of our hero Jandamarra. In the near future a feature drama will be made and is currently in development.
