University Students from Boston Join Up with CAAMA

Just returning from five days and four nights in the outback put my mind in a sort of fog when we entered the CAAMA Radio office doors. Very quickly did my classmates and I learn that it wasn’t going to be a normal boring studio tour. We were able to learn from the second largest broadcast area in Australia with a lot of enthusiasm from the station manager, digital media producer and seventeen year old radio host star.

As we looked deeper into aboriginal culture and media a great opportunity was offered to us. Why not collaborate with CAAMA instead of just listening from them? Our trusty Professor Marcus Breen, from Northeastern University Communications Department, sure did have a smile on his face when he heard this.

Check out the news piece that Ella, Ali and I put together for the station about our experiences here in Australia. Also, keep your eyes and ears open for the sounds of Daria, Jill, Mike and Matt who spoke with Nerida about the differences between the United States and Australian culture.
