CAAMA Productions Pty Ltd is the largest Indigenous production house in Australia. We are an experienced film making company located in the centre of Alice Springs with an intimate knowledge of our local Aboriginal people and communities.
Established by the CAAMA Group in 1988, to perform the function of a commercial film and television production house for the newly established Imparja Television, CAAMA Productions is owned and operated by the CAAMA Group and relies on production income.
As a professional film, television and creative facility, CAAMA Productions supports our award winning Indigenous producers, directors, camera crews and editors.
In partnership with Imparja Television we produce the “Nganampa Anwernkenhe” culture and language documentary series, featuring the diversity of life in Central Australia. Nganampa Anwernkenhe celebrated its 21st birthday in 2008, and with between four and six half-hour episodes produced each year, we believe it is the longest running series of its kind in the world. CAAMA Productions would like to commend Imparja Television for their vision in continuing to support this important series.
CAAMA Productions has produced documentaries for Channel 7, Channel 4, CBC, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC), National Geographic, the Special Broadcasting Service (SBS) and Imparja Television on the Nine Network.
Our dramas include the award winning short films “Cold Turkey”, “Green Bush” and “My Colour Your Kind”. We also collaborated as Co-Producer on the award-winning debut feature film by writer/director Warwick Thornton, who has maintained a long-running working relationship with CAAMA Productions.
Our television series include “Double Trouble”, the first Aboriginal children’s television drama series to be produced for the national Nine Network and Disney Channel; music series such as “Pmarra Country” for National Indigenous Television (NITV), “Spin FX” and “Corroboree Rock”, and the magazine programs “Grounded” and “Yeyekerte” for NITV.
