The Law Council of Australia call on the NT Government to raise the minimum age of criminal responsibility.

Last week, representatives from The Law Council of Australia and the Law Society of the Northern Territory were in Darwin to call on the Northern Territory government keep to its promise to increase the minimum age of criminal responsibility.

It is one of the recommendations from the Royal Commission into the Detention & Protection of Children in the NT in its final report, which was handed down in late 2017. The NT Gunner Government are yet to implement this recommendation. 

Law Council of Australia President, Arthur Moses SC, also visited Alice Springs to meet with other legal workers to open the law year & spoke to Philippe Perez at CAAMA Radio to talk about the law year, raising the age of criminal responsibility in the NT and the Law Council's support for the Statement from the Heart from Uluru.
