On todays program:
• On Monday the final report from banking royal commission was released and detailed 76 recommendations. The report reveals a range issues which have impacted First Nations peoples including access to banking services in d remote areas, identification, and funeral insurance policies sold to people living in remote communities. Following the release of the report the Australian Greens are calling on the Morrison coalition Government to take immediate action on issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. We will hear from the Australian Greens Spokesperson for Aboriginal affairs soon.
• An Alice Springs newspaper has employed two Aboriginal Journalists to report on issues impacting Aboriginal youth across the country. A four page pull out called Young Deadly Mob published by the Centralian Advocate will focus on First Nations youth issues
• Data from the NT Government suggests that the losses in the NT were from the public health sector, rather than private or Aboriginal – Community controlled organisations.
