Two high profile  Aboriginal candidates standing in Saturdays  Federal election have shared differing opinions on  how a future government will
work to close the gap in indigenous disadvantage.

The coalition government has  announced details of a proposed  ten million dollar plan  to provide 70 new temporary accommodation beds  for
homeless residents living in Darwin.

Another investigation into Australia’s prisons by the ABC’s Four Corners program   has revealed more than half of children being held in Queensland jails   are either  Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander.
