The CEO of the peak body representing town campers in Alice Springs says they continue to have a voice and contribute to the development of Alice Springs. Tangentyere Council will celebrate 40 years of being in service next year.
The Tangentyere Family Day was held at the Alice Springs Aquatic & Leisure Centre on Friday 5th October where families of town campers where encouraged to learn about the services available to them. Arrente Man and CEO of Tangentyere Council Walter Shaw told CAAMA Radio that Aboriginal people need to ensure they get a say in the issues that affect them in the upcoming years, and that the council will ensure those from town camps get their input into those issues.
