River management really means caring for country......

 A research scientist with 20 years experience of the social impact of natural resource management in Australia believes Aboriginal people  have a significant and ongoing  role to play in the decision making processes of  river management.

Geographer  Professor Sue Jackson who has spent two decades examining the significant role of traditional and cultural  water management says major changes to laws in the Darling Basin  now means that Aboriginal people, as landowners, have inherited rights to water which are very commercially viable.
