QANTAS Dreamliner - Emily Kame Kngwarreye - Lands in Alice Springs!!!

As the sunrise lit up the Alice Springs airport tarmac, dignitaries, family and media watched in awe as the latest addition to the QANTAS fleet, an impressive Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, beautifully painted with Emily Kame Kngwarreye’s Yam dreaming artwork came in to land….

Many of the mob from the Utopia community, who had travelled over 200kms to attend the event, watched on with tears in their eyes as the impressive plane taxied along the runway, the colours looking even more striking in the morning sun…

The event was hosted by AFL legend and proud Adnyamathanha and Narungga man Adam Goods, and attended by NT Chief Minister Michael Gunner, QANTAS CEO Alan Joyce, representatives from the Balarinji design studio, media and most importantly Emily’s family..
