John Butler Fires Up Against Fracking and Adani

The Byron Bay Bluesfest is held in Bundjalung country annually and brings together the world’s best blues and roots artists to perform at one of Australia’s biggest festivals

The John Butler Trio have performed at the Bluesfest repeatedly and have forged a reputation to use their performances as a means to raise awareness to various environmental issues that face Australia. The John Butler Trio are an Australian roots/rock band led by guitarist and vocalist John Butler, an APRA and ARIA-award-winning musician. 

In this year’s performance – John Butler and his band allowed a STOP ADANI demonstration to take place on their stage, during their set. A huge STOP ADANI banner was unveiled whilst Wangan and Jagalingou elder Adrian Burragubba addressed the crowd.
