Jacinta Nampijinpa Price: We Have an Aboriginal Industry That Has Been Built on the Backs of Our Misery

12th Mar 2018

Alice Springs Councillor, and Walpiri Scottish woman Jacinta Nampijinpa Price has been touted as either a much-needed voice of reason on Aboriginal issues, or a provocative commentator spurring heated debate.

The tragedy of incidents like the alleged sexual assault of a two year old in a house in Tennant Creek and the death of a man from an alleged assault in the same residence, has spurred many opinions from leaders in Central Australia, but Ms Price has called out many Aboriginal political leaders for mainly staying silent on the issue.

This was one of many arguments she made in an article for the Australian last week calling on Aboriginal leaders to face the truths of the issues regarding family violence.
