A group of representatives from the Strong Grandmothers Group from the Central Desert Region have been invited to speak at this year’s Students of Sustainability conference in Melbourne next week…
Students of Sustainability is an annual environmental and social justice conference bringing together activists, students, educators and artists from around Australia for a week of education, culture, networking and celebration.
A delegation of grandmothers from Central Australian Strong Grandmothers Group will be attending the conference to meet with other Grandmother groups from around the country, to raise awareness about the current rate of aboriginal child removal and to discuss strategies to return children to their families.
Speaking to CAAMA news, group representatives Christene Palmer, Doreen Carol McCormack and Elaine Peckham explained their aims at the event.
