A recently released government report which revealed almost 48,000 cases of child abuse has led to calls for Aboriginal Child adoption legislation to be changed to allow more Aboriginal children to be placed in permanent care.

The Alice Springs based Tangentyere Council has called on the Northern Territory Government to consider a permanent day patrol for the town  following the recent  announcement that police auxillary officers will be  located  at local  bottle shops.

The Northern Territory Government has announced restrictions on the sale of alcohol    alcohol restrictions  will continue  in Tennant Creek another three months.
