* The Western Australia Police Commissioner Chris Dawson has formally apologised for the past mistreatment of the state's Aboriginal people at the hands of police.
* The National Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Social Justice Commissioner June Oscar has said that First Nation women are strongly skilled but are disadvantaged due to government policies that send them to detention or cause psychological distress.
* In local news, teams from five remote Central Australian aboriginal communities are competing in Alice Springs at the Central Desert Regional Council 2018 Softball Championship, for a place in the State Titles.
