Tangiora Hinaki: How a life of travelling turned into remote community media work

Philippe Perez sat down with journalist Tangiora Hinaki, a Maori woman who works as the manager and content maker at Ngaarda Media based in the town of Roebourne in West Australia’s Pilbara region. 

A decade ago she was travelling around the regional home schooling their children, she found herself loving the lifestyle in remote communities She talks about a range of topics including the transition from settling in to work in remote communities, to learning more about media life in a larger organisation like the ABC and transitioning back again to a smaller organisation in Roebourne.
