The third annual Ngar-wu Wanyarra Aboriginal Health Conference will bring together Yorta Yorta, Wiradguri, Woiworung, Waveroo and many other Victorian and NSW regional areas at the University of Melbourne’s Sherpparton campus.
* The list of nominated artists for the 2017 ARIA AWARDS has been released, with numerous Aboriginal performers being nominated across several categories.
Aboriginal hip-hop act A.B. Original lead the charge with 6 ARIA Award nominations for their album Reclaim Australia
The duo, consisting of Yorta Yorta man Briggs and Ngarrindjeri man and ARIA award-winning producer Trials, have spent this year collecting prestigious music awards including the $30,000 Australian Music prize and two awards at the National Indigenous Music Awards.
Other Categories they are nominated for include Best Break through artists, Best independent release and Album of the Year.
Jessica Mauboy also secured six nominations including Best Female Artist, Best Pop Release and Best Video.
Dan Sultan is also in the running for three awards this year, including Best Male Artist, Best Independent Release and Best Rock Album - which is a category he took out in 2014 with his album Black Bird.
Other aboriginal acts nominated include Archie Roach and Busby Marou who are both up for Best Blues and Roots Album.
