Loyal Tigers supporters gathered at the ME Bank Centre, Richmond on Friday morning to watch the team’s open training session, continuing preparations for the Indigenous round clash against Essendon.

Those fans were excited to have their favourite stars sign their Guernseys and posters at the end of the session.

This weekend sees the return of the Indigenous round in the AFL, the Dreamtime game at the MCG is now a firmly established game and one which footy followers look forward to each year.

This year marks a special event, it was 20 years ago that St. Kilda footballer Nicky Winmar made a stand against racism in the game.

The Northern Territory Government says it is committed to supporting and recognising women across all aspect of life in the Territory, including Employment, Education and Leadership.

The CAAMA Crew covering the 2013 Dreamtime round at the MCG have touched down in Melbourne, ready for the action. Game on.

The AFL Indigenous Round is a celebration of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and the players that have shaped the game. It also remembers the iconic moment Nicky Winmar showed a symbol of determination and pride, raising his Guernsey and standing strong in his culture.

Saturday in Melbourne will see a Dreamtime Career Expo, The Long Walk celebrations and thousands of fans joining Michael Long for the Long Walk to the ‘G. There will then be Dreamtime at the G pre-match entertainment and at 7:45 the match between Richmond and Essendon will commence.

A Northern Territory Senator who is supportive of the nations future nuclear waste dump being located near Tennant Creek says that some of the Traditional Owners of the land have been able to make up their own mind about safety concerns after visiting a similar facility in Spain.

Pam, Mikaela, Lorena & Safia were invited to attend the Breakfast with a mentor at Centralian Middle School’s Girls Academy. We were happy to encourage the girls to stay in school and let them know what its like to work in Radio.

15 of Australia’s top scientists from museums, herbaria, universities and botanical gardens throughout Australia were at Henbury Station, near Alice Springs in a nature discovery “Bush Blitz” documenting the many plants and animals protected by this hugh reserve.

(L-R) Graham Abbott, Rhys Ulamari, Simon Bloomfield are part of the 17 strong Ltyentye Apurte Drummers who left yesterday for a week-long trip to Melbourne including performing at Federation Square on Saturday as part of the Dreamtime at the G celebrations.
The group has experienced much success performing in the Northern Territory and they are excited about the opportunity to travel to Melbourne, for many the first time out of the NT, and are proud to be invited to be part of the AFL’s Indigenous round of festivities.

Top End Yolngu Elder Djiniyini Gondarram says Aboriginal children in the Northern Territory are being taken away at numbers not seen since the stolen generations and there is an urgent need for more family support programs in communities.

The launch of a major exhibition in Canberra will serve as a strong reminder to both Government and the wider non indigenous community of the trauma and struggles that Aboriginal and islander peoples have endured in the last 100 years.
