Growing pressure on the Federal Indigenous Affairs

bureaucratic wastage and over governance is preventing

Calls to remove art exhibition from Wollongong Gallery.

A  group  of Aboriginal Elders who visited the Wollongong City Gallery today  say they were “disgusted”  with exhibition called ‘No Country for Dreaming’    by nine-times Archibald finalist Paul Ryan.

Aaron Broad Henry who  helped bring the exhibition to a temporary close says the exhibition is very offensive for any man, not matter what colour.

Govt. watchdog says Aboriginal people deserve the same services !

The man charged with the delivery of services to remote  Aboriginal communities has rejected speculation that the Federal Government  wants  to relocate Aboriginal people  into new growth towns where they can receive essential services.

Brian Gleeson, Co-ordinator General for remote indigenous services says “to his knowledge: there is no pressure from government to relocate people and that when he visits the outstations and homelands people are presuming that they will remain on country.

2010 Australian of the Year Pat McGorry drops into CAAMA for a chat .

Professor Patrick McGorry is a leading international researcher, clinician and advocate for the youth mental health reform agenda.Professor McGorry is also a founding board member of headspace, the National Youth Mental Health Foundation. He believes that early intervention offers the greatest hope for recovery and therefore takes every opportunity to educate the community to recognise the early signs of mental illness, without stigmatising or discriminating.

Mansell calls for Aboriginal representation in Tasmanian Parliament..
